From the Bergkastel cable car, the trail leads past old Swiss stone pine trees, over stone slopes and wooden bridges (hiking trail no. 20a) to the Ganderbild. After the wayside shrine, the trail leads through alpine rose bushes and across grassy areas to the "Großer Stein", a striking boulder in a valley hollow. A climb leads past marmot burrows to the last hill (2250 m) before the Goldsee lakes. Along the shore of the lower lake you reach the upper Goldsee. Both lakes are located in a mountain basin with little vegetation and lots of scree. After a short loop, you return to the mountain station of the Bergkastel cable car via the same route.

It does not pose any major technical challenges and is therefore perfect for practising how to use the via ferrata set. The second part is now more challenging. The steep "5-Meter-Wandl" awaits right at the start, but then the route up to the "Goldspitzl" becomes much easier again. The small Goldspitzl is the first "real" climbing experience of the tour. It is also possible to descend to the hiking trail here.

The wide Goldparkcart route winds its way over 4.4 kilometers between Bergkastel and the Lärchenalm. The Lärchenhanglift II takes you back to the mountain station.
